The Better Business Bureau of Central North Carolina is accepting nominations for its annual Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics.
The Torch Award recognizes area businesses that maintain a solid commitment to ethical business practices. Entries are evaluated by an independent panel of judges on such topics as management policies and practices, customer relations, marketing/sales practices, and community involvement.
The nomination form can be found at www.greensboro.bbb.org under the "Torch Award” link located in the lower right side of the web page.
Awards will be given in three categories based on the number of employees: 1-25; 26-75; and 76 and above.
Each entry must include a completed entry form and a two-page summary that
explains why your firm merits being a Torch Award Winner and provides your firm’s philosophy regarding business integrity and ethical practices.
Any other supporting information is at the discretion of the business submitting the entry. Entries can include copies of news articles, letters of appreciation, or copies of awards or recognitions.
Businesses may consider outlining examples of ethical challenges that were resolved. Regional or nationwide companies with local branches should consider localizing their supporting material.
Businesses are encouraged to submit their entry in either a notebook or ring binder. Presentations on video, DVD or CD will not be reviewed by the judges. Companies in need of assistance are encouraged to call Kevin Hinterberger at the Better Business Bureau, (336) 632-4976.
Winning companies will be presented with their Torch Awards at the annual BBB meeting in October..
The deadline to submit nominations is September 10th. Entries can be sent to the BBB of Central N.C., 3608 W. Friendly Ave., Suite 212, Greensboro, N.C. 27410.
